About
Garden design and program consultation by Horticultural Therapist Eva Joly, LMSW.
Eva designs and builds gardens for individuals, families, and community groups. She runs a therapeutic greenhouse at Bedford Green House, a supportive housing residence in the Bronx serving previously unhoused adults and families with behavioral health diagnoses.
Eva formed her ethic as a gardener and designer as a member of the 9th Street Community Garden in Manhattan’s East Village and in her work facilitating horticultural therapy for adolescents and adults incarcerated on Rikers Island.
Eva believes that gardening is fundamentally an emancipatory practice. She strives to demystify the creation and care of gardens to unlock the physical, psychological, and spiritual benefits of gardening.
